The Joint Spouses Conference 2011 is pleased and honored to announce our Keynote Speaker! This year, award-winning journalist Kimberly Dozier, correspondent for the Associated Press, will address the JSC. Ms. Dozier currently covers intelligence and counter-terrorism news. She was stationed in Baghdad as the chief reporter in Iraq for CBS News for nearly three years prior to being critically wounded during a car bomb attack on May 29, 2006. As a result of that attack, an American soldier, an Iraqi translator, and two of her CBS crewmembers were killed. Ms. Dozier is the author of Breathing the Fire: Fighting to Report and Survive the War in Iraq. Ms. Dozier was born in Honolulu, and is the daughter of a U.S. Marine Corps WWII veteran. In 2008, she ran the 10K of the U.S. Marine Corps Marathon to raise money for Fisher House, which provides a place to stay for loved ones of the combat-injured or any seriously ill family member admitted to a military hospital. A long time friend and supporter of the U.S. military, we are truly fortunate to have such a fascinating and high-profile speaker at our October conference.
